Our love of these dogs is demonstrated in many ways, but it always starts with a loving home. Our dogs are a part of our family and enjoy an active life outdoors full of swimming, camping, and so much more!
When not out for play, KTG Retrievers are welcomed in, where they are indulged with soft beds, toys, and healthy fresh meals. Most importantly, they are connected to their human family.
The KTG Difference extends to the puppy we share with you, whose little lives are gently nurtured from birth. Some of the KTG Difference highlights include:
1. Our puppy parents are genetically tested and clear of over 240 genetic variants including- ICH, PRA 1 & 2, prod-PRA, NCL.
2. Early Neurological Stimulation as well as Early Scent Introduction.
3. Age appropriate socialization and a variety of environmental stimuli.
4. Each young puppy will have a full head to tail tip veterinary well- check , worming and 1st shots prior to joining their forever family.
5. Each adult dog is tested and certified in OFA hips, elbows, eyes and heart.
When you welcome a KTG puppy into your home, feel confident your puppy has received the best treatment and that you’re joining a nationwide family.
Our Golden Retrievers are very social and eager to please. They do not do well with long periods of time being alone. They want to be by your side in everything you do. They are friendly with strangers, kids, and even other animals. Their desire to please makes them an extremely trainable dog.
Most goldens are medium-sized dogs standing 20-25 inches tall and weighing 50-75 pounds.
The Golden Retriever usually lives for about 10-12 years.
While Golden Retrievers are often very healthy dogs, there are a few things to watch out for when looking to add a golden to your family. Dysplasia of the hips and elbows are common health concerns for this breed. For this reason, Knapp Trick Goldens is very selective about the dogs we add to our kennel. To make sure our goldens are healthy and suitable for breeding, we like them to undergo special testing such as OFA and/or PenHIPP. We also do genetic testing to verify they are not a carrier of over 190 genetic conditions that affect dogs, -9 of which are specifically relevant to Golden Retrievers. We don’t just breed purebreds, we breed well-bred purebreds. Each litter we strive to help better the breed.
Our goldens are the perfect dog. They are calm indoors, but when given the opportunity to work and run, their drive quickly comes out allowing them to find antlers, work on farm, go hiking/swimming, and even sniff out drug paraphernalia for the police. Goldens are happiest when they are given a job to do.
